           This village was the capital of Paliwal Brahmins in the twelfth century. Whose discussion was held all over Rajasthan. The artwork on the buildings here was captivating. Even today, the prosperity of the Paliwal Brahmins of that time can be gauged by looking at the carvings on the ruins here.

          Historians say that this prosperity of Paliwal Brahmins was not being tolerated by Diwan Saleh Singh of Jaisalmer. Due to which the Diwan imposed heavy tax on eighty-four villages including Kuldhara and the surrounding villages. Paliwal Brahmins did not have enough wealth to pay this much tax. Because of which the Paliwal Brahmins openly opposed it. But Ayyas Saleh Singh's attention fell on a very beautiful girl from Kuldhara. He began to insist on Kuldhara to bring him to his palace. But Paliwal Brahmins clearly refused. Due to which Saleh Singh's atrocities started increasing.

One day, due to atrocities, the Paliwal Brahmins left this village and went somewhere else. While leaving, he cursed that this village would never be inhabited again. Because of the same curse, Kuldhara is in this condition today.
        Anyone who dares to stay the night in this Kuldhara village is either killed or goes missing somewhere. Till date, all those who have dared to stay the night in this village have done so. Those who could not survive, those who survived have said that this village is under the influence of evil forces which do not allow anyone to stay in this village at night.
